I am more interested in this than performing surgery on the compressor to install a screw.

I'll try-That's above my pay-grade and need my wife to do 'puter stuff like that.

Been doing a lot of reading on the net today since it is cold and raining. From all that I have found, it appears that what I am experiencing is pretty normal for a York. The higher I idle, the more oil in the filter. I guess I will just let the tank fill at an idle. I made the pressure tank with the inlet and the outlet on top so that any oil that gets past the filter will merely collect in the bottom of the tank where I can collect it when I drain the tank. I may have to rig something up at the unloader, because oil is discharged from there also, and there are enough other oil leaks under the hood! I considered re ringing the compressor, but it seems that all that is available is the seal and gasket kit. Besides, I get plenty of pressure, so the apparently single piston ring is sealing normally.

I think mine is set up pretty much like Lumpy's and it seems to work quite well, although I am only using a Sanden Compressor. I do have a tube from the bottom of the separator with a valve to send the filtered oil back into the air inlet. I was having a problem with oil getting into the unloader and messing up its operation so I removed it and installed a check valve, The compressor did not seem to have any problems starting up with compressed air in the system, I don't think a/c systems have any type of unloader either. A little oil was still getting into the bottom of the tank, so I put in a separator filter that was designed to filter out the oil. This seems to work so far.

Agree with T'head 110%
A/C compressors are built to operate at much higher psi than what we will use'em for as air compressors.
Mine shuts off at 150psi and will start up at 95psi with the pressure switch I use.
My pressure switch is plummed in after the filter and sits a bit higher also.
