Can you pain fiberglass gel coat with something like rustoleum or do you need a special kind of paint?

it just has to be roughed up before you paint it:cool:

Wonderful!! My 'I can do anything' alter ego has convinced me that I can mold and make fiberglass body panels, eventually ending in a full tub.

has your alter ego done a lot of fiberglass work??

Personally, if I was given a choice of a major fiberglass project , such as you are talking about, and a good butt whoopin.

I would have to think about it for a day or two, it would be a tough choice.

You can make a mold off of steel. The model needs to be near perfect because the imperfections will show.

Then you make the parts from the mold.

By the time you add up all the costs, may as well buy one. . .

Sounds like you may be getting in over your head. Be careful with that alter ego it may take you places you don't want to be.
