thanks paul

The body looks pretty good.
The SOA job looks pretty spooky. I hope you plan on changing that.
For $700 it looks like a fun project.:chug:

Ya the lift is going away, need to get it in the shop and take a good look there is rust on the body but ex bodyman not worried about body work or mechanical for that mater but ya cant wait to get started

thanks paul

What are you going to do for a motor and Transmission ?

Doesnt look to bad. This scares me though. You need to have a good sit down with Longhorn. He'll show you what this is supposed to look like. That pitman arm looks like it was heated and bent downward. All that did was weaken it and its not near where it should be anyway. Not trying to dampen your spirits though. You just need to fix some of the p.o. mistakes. Looks like a fairly solid foundation for $700.

For $700 I have to agree it looks like a good foundation for a cool build. Do you have any ideas on motor/tranny/Transfer Case combos?

motor tranny combos is most of what i have thought about. 1st was sbc just about thrown that out, maybe 3.8 v6 now, also know someone with a rolled jimmy and thinking about 4.3 out of that, will probably go automatic as far as Transfer Case no idea. so motor still up in air anybody know what rearend that is, i was under the assumption that it would be an offset rearend but dont look that way to me, not in a hurry so going to take our time and see what comes along.

if ya notice no shocks on the thing was a little hairy towing with a tow dolly 250 miles

paul

IMO I would grab the 4.3 and the Transmission . and hook it to a 300.
If its EFI (I hope it is) you can get the harness too.

Looks like a 44 to me.

Wow, that pitman arm looks scary! Sweet deal though, That's even cheaper than I picked my rig. IMHO you need a "High steer conversion" at minimum. I can't tell from the pictures if the shackles are reversed, if not that would be my next recommendation. Then you'll likely find you have a wheelhop issue, that is easily cured with a traction bar. It sounds worse than it is, but what did you expect for $700 bucks anyway.
