Hey all

I am midway through a front and rear scout Dana 44 swap but have just acquired a wagoneer Dana 44 housing minus the outer knuckles brakes etc. This will save me having to grind off and twist inner C for correcting castor

Plan is to use

1. Wagoneer Dana 44 housing (yes its right hand drop drivers side for me passenger for you)
2. Scout Dana 44 axles
3. Dana 30 CJ outer knuckle hubs brakes spindles etc the plan is to keep close to CJ turning circle compared to goofy long steering arms on the scout knuckles

My research says Dana 30 and Dana 44 outer knuckles are interchangeable

Any flaws in my theory ????:chug:

I know TJ and JK that the knuckles are the same but am at a.loss about earlier jeeps

Right off his page here.

"Donor CJ narrow track Dana 30 outer knuckles used on the Dana 44 . The axles are the same spline count which makes it a simple bolt on. I decided to go this route because I liked the idea of reusing as much CJ parts as I could while using the Dana 44 housing. I still kept the Scout II outer knuckles because of their strength but if I ever decide to reuse them they will have to be overhauled. "

Kane thanks for that That site has been good part of my research also

The one part I wasn't sure is using the wagoner Dana 44 housing. I believe the differences are from the outer knuckle out but wanted to confirm

Also have seen the pirate thread for Dana 44 knuckles on a Dana 30 housing so pretty sure I am good to go but nice to know before I tear stuff down and find I need more parts

Do you have a link to the Pirate page so I can read it?
