please help:(

hi i have a 1980 CJ7 6cyl AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l first off a couple weeks ago i noticed win i tried to shutt it off it would try and keep running but now if your foot isnt on the gas pedal it stalls i really no nuthing about carbs and any advice u can give would be greatly appreiciated

check the float level, the float and for trash in the float bowl

thanks for the addvice brock turns out i just needed to pull out the venturie (dont no if i spelled that right) and clean it thanks again

If you are going to open the carb read this http://www.yellowjeep.org/Carb.html You might as well drill out the idle tubes....

Also, buy a carb kit and replace all the gaskets, accelerator pump, check ball, etc... While you have it opened, take it apart, soak it and make it new!

Best thing I ever did for my jeep when I bought it!
