I have just acquired a 1947 CJ2a , (I think thats right) S/N 127331, Prior owner says it's all here, just in lots of different locations, (buckets, boxes ect.) It has a PTO assembly with it and I was curious if I should keep it or sell off the PTO as I have no use for it. Don't know much about this yet, just askin. Patrick

I would suggest hanging on to it, as you might find a need, unless someone comes along and asks big bucks for it. Welcome to the forum.

The SN is correct for a 47
I would keep the PTO for the time being, you can always sell it later.

Had a 47 CJ2a once. Most fun jeep I ever owned. Keep your eyes open for a Warn/Saturn Overdrive to replace the PTO. It will probably be more useful if driving on pavement very much. Also very helpful when wheeling as it gives you more shifting options but nothing beats a winch, shovel, and a bunch of spare parts when off road to get you home. :chug:
