Hey everyone. I had to replace my driver side motor mount yesterday and figured I would look into why it broke. I noticed my Transmission mount was busted and figured that was that. After looking at dozens of pics, I realized my torque arm was apparently cut by a PO. I've been missing the Transmission mount stabilizer the whole time(which I guess explains my motor mount breaking).

I ordered a new arm and stabilizer/Transmission mount.

My issue is (unless I'm missing something), it doesn't seem that it will line up with the existing holes of my skid plate. I'm guessing it's an original skid, but I don't know for sure. I can't find any picks of my skid online to compare. I'll attach pics from my gallery.

My CJ driveline is stock. AMC 304 ,GM Turbo 400 ,QT
Is the stabilizer is supposed to be on the passenger side? Thanks

What's under the broken rubber mount in the picture ?
Should be a much larger hole for the torque mount bushings and stud to go through.
Maybe the rubber mount is installed incorrectly on that bracket ?

Thanks for answering, I thought maybe the skid was too forward also, but the two mount holes line up perfectly, no hole for the stabilizer though.

Thanks for the diagram, Hagar. I gotta check it out. Im pretty sure i dont have any holes on either side of the trns mount holes.

It does appear that the skid plate is mounted too far forward in the first pic.

You are totally right. It looks like the PO drilled the holes that the mount was in. The skid is about 5" forward. Also, the arm was extending on the passenger side. Ill be moving the skid back and mounting it correctly when my parts get here. Thanks again to everyone!
