1986 CJ-7 Renegade
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I have a (seemingly) simple question.

I'm selling a 1986 CJ7 Renegade with 14,675 original miles. It has original paint and the original decals. It came out of San Antonio and has been stored for several years. I'm the third owner and replaced the original belts, hoses, fluids, radiator, shocks, upper ball joints, and put screws in the carburetor to adjust it. It has new Michelin LTX tires, a new rear bumper, and heavy duty shackles. The doors and the roof have never been off of it. It has an automatic Transmission , tilt steering, factory air conditioning, perfect carpet, and the original spare tire and cover. Everything works perfectly. It's been signed and the number under the hood is #190 9/4/85 JR.

How much should I expect to get out of selling it in today's current market?

Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

OH about 4 grand

man i've seen worse jeeps than that listed for $25k, i'm not sayin its worth that but damn that thing is pretty much new, its worth more than any $4k. thats a collectors item.

I second that. That is a beautiful jeep, you just don't see them like that in that condition. I would get the jeep professionally appraised to see what it's worth. I all I can say is Wow!

Good god that is one of the nicest stock Jeeps I have ever seen. That really makes me want to go and restore my Jeep to look like that.

No Kidding, it's like it's been parked in a garage since 86. If I owned it, it would be going to car shows and garage kept.

it is a great jeep
unfortunately it is only worth what you can get for it
here in SoCal I see jeeps go for sale all the time starting at double digit amounts, and then over the next few months they tumble in price till the owner offs it for way to little.
Problem is we here in America are in a Major recession and this summer the other shoe will hit the floor and it will get worse.
Remember a collectors car is only of value to a collector, and how many CJs do you see at Barrett Jackson?
I would love it, but true value is what it will move for when offered.

I totally agree with you Baja. To bad that jeep is not listed here in British Columbia Canada, I know lot's of people asking if mine is for sale or are looking for one to buy, we are very lucky that the economy isn't as bad here. I guess I will see how bad it is in SoCal, when I am down there at the end of the month.

Try posting it on jeepbrokers.com, get on there and look around first. You will be amazed at the price these Jeeps bring. I personally sold an 86' Renegade year before last with 90K original miles, paint, everything stock and 95% original( not as clean as your though) for 10,000 cash to a guy in Chicago. I live in Georgia, he flew down and drove it back. Give it a look.

Look on Craigs list to get an idea, That is a NICE Jeep and if it were mine I would start out at about 15k and go from there or like mentioned above go and get it apprasied. Or you could donate it to me, I will take care of it! LOL!
