Rain wrecked rehab..advice please.
Hi Forum....
So, for us that live in the southeast, this summer has been rain, rain, rain, and some occasional rain. With this grumble, I have a general question.. I am refurbishing my jeep which is parked in an uncovered driveway, with no shelter over. I have my exhaust manifolds pulled off, and my intake is stripped of essentials ready to come off. Does anyone know if 93%humidity and occasional rains will hurt my engine if my intake manifold is off? The jeep has its hood, so Im not worried about direct downpour, but water vapor causing internal or surface rust on my block. I know its not ideal, but Ive got to get get this done soon as the temp is now dropping, more rain for the next month and I know paint and RTV has humidity barriers.
I know I could just replace my valley pan and RTV and be done but since I have my intake manifold off, there is no reason not to degrease it and put a fresh coat of enamel on right? I know it will take at least 4 days to clean and let paint dry enough to oven cure before I can reinstall.. that means my block will be exposed untill then... (I would of course place a clean towel over and then cover with plastic.
Thanks for any advice or similar experiences!
