Rattling calipers CJ7 / CJ 5 type

I have a pair of front disc calipers both are rattling badly and need replacement anti rattle springs and new retaining clips springs etc . I have found that my calipers are early CJ7 / late CJ5 type . could anyone hel- with clear diagrams as to where the various clips and springs are fitted as some are completely missing and I am not sure how the replacements need to be installed ,,, grateful for any help please.

Make sure your wheel bearings are set correctly.
Loose hub can beat back the pads and cause this rattle also.
Do you own a factory service manual? I don't mean Haynes or Chilton as they are very much lacking in detail.

It could need new bushings. There is a hardware kit you can get with Teflon bushings and rubber grommets for the calipers.

CJ's had two different types of disk brakes. The early style are different from the later style. How thick is the brake rotor?

Definitely the early style , the caliper is rattling in its carrier , I have a repair kit on order , jst unsure of the correct fitting of anti rattle springs / clips etc

It is not the TJ style carrier it is an earlier one.
