1980 cj5 258ci straight 6, 31x10.50's. Partial Teamrush iginition upgrade, MC 2150 Carb. 4.0 head swap, factory header. I call him "Eugene".

Dad's jeep when he raced in the 70's. Cj2 running gear, ford 300 cu in 6 cyl with 3 deuces. Fiberglass model T body and hand laid fiberglass hood. welded 5.38 gears and beer keg fuel tank. see avatar

anybody know off hand what rear end a DJ had under it. Local pick n pull has one sitting there. btw it has one piece axles.
 
I believe all the earlier ones had a Dana 44 but the later ones had a dana 35 like the wrangler yj's...35's have the small ford lug pattern just as a yj..44 has large ford pattern like a cj
 
its certainly the big pattern. so would it be a direct swap and any idea what the gear ratios were?

most if not all were a 3.73,I believe and best I remember it will be a direct swap
 
3.54 and trac lock Dana 44 's.
not a bolt in.
spring over instead of under. and springs were out boarded.

Very popular on earlier CJ's.
