here is one I built for one of my jeeps that I use pulling a 300 gallon water tank trailer as well as other trailers around the farm.Built it out of heavy 6 inch channel.Should have tapered the ends to make it pretty but it sure does the job..

I can't and don't want to speak for wm69. But I have seen others that Eddie has made and he offers frame tie ins for the bumpers.

Dain

I ended up ordering from Eddie. His stuff is fantastic looking and he's customer service !00% of the way! I bought front and rear bumpers from him and I can't wait to get them in a couple of weeks. He uses thicker stuff than the other guy (and most of the big box places too).

Sometimes guys use a steel tube bumper that doubles as an air tank, fyi.

Not a bad idea, but it sounds like a great idea to rust the hell out of the bumpers from the inside out.

I'm banking on the GPF stuff for now.

I ordered my rear bumper from Eddie (BESRK) as well. I can't believe how well built and heavy it was for what he charged. He included everything I needed including the bolts. I surprisingly returned the more wimpy ones I had purchased previously.

He will also customize it to whatever size and thickness you want unless you just say, 'give me a regular'.

He has a wheel carrier version if you are interested.

any pics of his wheel carrier model?

:)
Or this...........4x2x1/4" wall tubing , tow hooks and receiver hitch go through tube and all welded on both sides........this also now has a spindle type mount swing away tire carrier attached.
:D:D:D:D

I like that alot

Only one I could find without a tire mounted to it. He's one of the few I know that built it with a latch and pivot that are very secure and don't rattle according to the many that have reviewed them.

He's under Ground Pounder Fab if you do a google/ebay/image search.

I'm getting the wheel-carrier on my bumper. I'll post when I get them and probably the process of getting them ready and installed.

GREAT guy, and he's on email replies like you wouldn't believe.

cool, ill likely use him when the time comes, theres no bumper on mine at all, just the silver hoops and a tounge strap with hitch balls on it, gotta get a proper bumper so i can have jerry cans and a hi-lift mount.

wm69, How does your bumper mount to your jeep, on the rear cross member or to the frame? I'm working on my rear bumper and rack just wondering how you did yours.
Thanks Jeff

I apologize, somehow I missed this.

The factory CJ drawbar had iron bolted to either side of the frame which reinforced the crossmember. Basically just a couple pieces of angle iron.

One of my Jeep has the OEM brackets, the other I just used some scrap angle iron.

Ties your bumper into the frame and keeps the weight from destroying your crossmember.

Use some grade 8 hardware and a heavy enough bumper and you can pick the Jeep up with your tow points....:D

One thing to keep in mind for those of you with stock tire carriers is that a hitch receiver mounted at a height equal to the crossmember will be obstructed by the rear tire.

I should be getting my stuff in this upcoming week, I'll photograph the hell out of it, don't worry.

Been a while. How'd it turn out? Pics?
