rear disc brakes

want to convert 85 CJ7 rear brakes to disc off a 85 chev 2wd front hd brakes, will it work?

You have those specific brakes from a '85 Chevy?
Where there's a will there's a way. It will take custom fabrication. You will have to weld some type of plate on the end of the axles to mount the calipers. Then the rotors have to fit on the axle shafts. Is it 5x5.5 bolt pattern?

But why reinvent the wheel? I would get a kit that has already been designed for your jeep. Like this:

With the Chevy front brakes you need to have the correct bolt pattern fab skills no need for a parking brake(inspections?) new hoses adapted to the steel lines an adjustable prop valve and finally a disc/disc compatible master cly.

What rear end do you have?
Never mind I see you have a ford 9". There's plenty of kits out there for that axle.
I don't think the chevy fronts will work.

Seeing you're running a spool in the rear, I suspect you're not driving on the street much.

I used CJ7 front disks and 78 Monte Carlo calipers. Cut the mounts out of 5/16" plate that bolted to the axle bearing retainer cap (Dana 44 ). Good to go. Yes there is no parking brake, but since I've never had one in 35 years I'm used to it.

Thanks man , easy fab job and he even has all the measurements. I may not get to this in the next week or two but this is a no brainer and added to my list of things to do.

Excuse the mud. Here is a photo of the caliper and bracket. I used an adjustable proportioning valve. It's no problem stopping on any hill, anytime. I keep asking "Why did I wait so long to do this?"
