Rebuild CJ or buy JKU

Rebuild CJ or buy JKU
Scrambler with 3 rows of seats and a full soft / hardtop. :)

Great another idea!

Sasquach- that was my plan until my wife curve balled me.

Right now I am trying to figure out a better rear seat plan for two kids vs. the fold and tumble...not many rear seat options on the market.

It's a good thing I am not closer to Az. I could own a couple of these if it were not for getting them home.:D

You know you want it :D
Oh yea! Want many - and for the auction prices so far, the $1000 to have a CJ8 transported and the selling price is a deal! Just not sure I need another CJ on my property... :)

Ive been repeating this saying in my head over and over and over and over...:)

Must NOT buy ANOTHER CJ! MUST RESIST!

You know it's a sickness

It is seriously a good thing these are so far away... If they were closer I would be a bidder.

I was on Austin 4x4 yesterday, and fell in love!

This has to be the best CJ6 I have ever seen!

Well I am going forward with rebuilding the Jeep:chug:

Here is how she sits today...

Upon brief inspection the Transfer Case and rear axle seems to have an ooze...so tearing into those will be the first priority after getting it running again.

I was hoping to do the pretty stuff first but functionality will take priority

Glad to hear that. Old Jeep don't die they just get rebuilt. :chug:
We will be watching

Thanks I really want it back, my patience vs budget is going to drive me nuts...

To make it worse I helped my little sister go buy a new JK 2door this weekend so my dad and her both were out in their jeeps while mine sat covered in :dung: in my Dads barn

Good to hear your fixing her up.

Good to hear you made the right choice. ;) You should put this pic in the re-build thread. Looks like it'll take some work just to uncover it. :D

Will do!

I figured this thread is now dead...time to start a rebuild thread:chug:

Second time around rebuilding it...

You and most of us knew this was going to happen two weeks ago. I don't understand why you put yourself through all this anxiety and aggravation.:laugh::laugh:

LOL

I did too...as soon as my wife said it I knew it...

Basically I figured it will cost more to get a new JKU to the place I would want it (check out AEV.com) and I would lose my STI too. But the trade off is I would have it nearly right away.

The CJ will tak a bit to get there...probably a multi stage process.
