So i have a 1977 CJ7 and i want to replace all the knobs and indicator lights on the console. I managed to get the light post out by depressing a button in the back and pulling out the knob. Now i want to remove all the indicator lights (the ones that say wiper washer, lights, etc ). Do you just pull these out. I'm feeling around from the back but doesn't seem to be anything that you can depress to release these? Any advice would be great.

Following that i want to remove the other knobs. I read somewhere you have to heat them up....anyone have any experience updating all their knobs and display lights that they can help me with....

Thx in advance
Ron

You have to slightly press from the upper and lower side, there
are kind of noses that hold the indicator in place...

Be REAL CAREFUL when dealing with 40 year old plastic.
Also-Disconnect the POS(+)lead on your battery before "feeling around from the back".;)
If you do go the heat route. Use a hair dryer at most, and only warm it to the touch.
Good luck,
LG
