Does anybody know of some rocksliders that you can use as a jack point? I'm looking for something basic, pretty much a metal 2x4 that sticks out an inch or so from the body.

Thanks, jake

If I were to go the custom route (not a welder, so has to be out sourced) how much do you think it would cost, ball park? and should I bolt them to the frame or weld and bolt?

For about $350 I had some rock sliders make for my CJ5
Rock sliders are never made to be a jack point but they are mounted along the whole side and distribute the weight pretty good. You can jack my jeep up by the sliders.
They are just made with angle iron and bent tubing.

If they are just bolted on to the body and not to the frame, wouldn't their be potential to bend the :dung: out of it? I figured that their had to be a good option for rock sliders that you could use as a jack point. I probably will end up with the ones you suggested or ones like it. I'm going to get a hi lift and I was hoping to get some more jack points then the bumper or the wheel, both of which you need to buy a "special" adaptor. Thanks for replying Busa.

This is from my local club, it's usually not much of a tech site as it is huge and is more for local runs, but this may help.

rock sliders: frame mount vs body mount?

If you get bored, this site is a nice place to visit to find out about AZ 4 wheeling, check out FORUM- GENERAL- scroll down to AZJVC TRAIL INFORMATION-then ARIZONA TRIALS- then check out DIFFICULT, MODERATE or PLEASURE/STOCK.

I am not a moderator or anything there, just like my state and thought you might find it interesting. It gives you a good idea of how we run out here with photos. This is by no means all trials and we do have high country pines, but for Metro Phoenix these are great.

Yes, the consensus is body mount is better. If it is frame mounted it has to be cantilevered off the frame. It can't easily be mounted solidly to both the frame and body because of the body mounts.

Thanks double 00, that site gave me some great ideas. I think ill be looking for some 3 x 5 x 1/4 " angle iron, should keep me busy for a weekend. Kind of excited.
