All you will need to do is drill the holes for the newer bar's mounts. The hoop on the '77 would have mounted to the wheel tubs on the same mount with the down bars where the newer one will mount to the floor step behind the front seats with separate mounting pads for each down bar. Unless you were starting with new sheet metal you would then need to fill the old mountings holes. Newer bar followed by older bar:
