Planning my first cj build. Are there motor mounts available that will allow me to utilize the original automatic Transmission ? Adapter between the two was easily found but the mounts I'm finding say they are for using with a chevy Transmission . 7101.webp

A set of weld-in motor mounts for the SBC engine allow you to place them wherever you need on the frame and then weld them in place. So you can move forward or back whatever you need to accommodate a variety of spacing needs. I did this in a prior CJ5 . In my current rig, I made my own mount adaptors from some scrap steel plate. Just a flat piece of 1/4" plate bolted to the original engine mounts and then the SBC mounts bolted to that. The stock CJ mounts have slotted holes, so some adjustment can be easily done. I have an SBC with an auto Transmission , though not the Jeep Transmission . Had to move the engine forward somewhat to make room for the engine, 700R4 tranny, Novak adaptor and the Dana 300 . Here's that thread with some pics:

Thank you for the reply. I was wondering if I could just do a plate after getting some measurements last night. The biggest reason I'm concerned about a plate is the sbc I'm installing is a bit rowdy.
