Has any one done this for a manual form of traction control to transfer power from a slipping wheel to the other side which might have better traction. Two parking brake handles, one for left and one for right.

That’s an interesting thought on how to get traction

Don't have that issue with a real 'locker'. :D
With any clutch type LSD-Just a little brake pressure is all that you need to 'fool' the diff.
If you are talking about an OEM, trac-loc. Don't waste your time. They are junk.

They have been doing this on farm tractors pretty much forever for traction, and to facilitate tight turns. Doing this on a road vehicle could be dangerous. Accidentally put a little too much brake to one side or the other, going a little too fast, and you will loose control of the vehicle. Much better to just install a fairly inexpensive "lunch box" locker.

I'm a big fan of lockers too, But to answer your question. Yes it has been done to a lot of off road vehicles. The use of brake levers such as two VW parking brake levers is what is usually used.

I wish AMC would have installed a center mounted emergency brake handle. I have seen some guys do this also as it can be used as a "Hill holder" and help out with traction.
