Can someone tell me if I go from a 4 inch shackle to a 2 inch does it drop 1 inch or 2 inches I have heard both. Thanks

I hope you were useing the 2" shackle length for simplicity in the math?
A 2" shackle would not allow the spring to flex or straighten out during compression with some springs.
