Got to ship a CJ7 from my dads property in Mobile Alabama to my place in Harleysville PA. Anyone have experience with vehicle shipping? Any recommended companies? Any companies to avoid?

CJ had one shipped when he bought his scrambler, hopefully he'll chime in.

It was my Scrambler that Cj bought , but I cant remember the name of the carrier. When I got my Laredo shipped from Pittsburgh I used Uship.com. They bid on it and you get to choose who picks it up. You put in all the parameters.

Just make sure to read the reviews and qualifications. There are ones out there just towing it on a dolley behind there truck. If we're talking about a Cj in the condition I think we are you really want someone insured and bonded.

I sold my race car to a gentleman in Australia this summer. He had to ship it from Southern Arizona to the port in LA, California. He used UShip, uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves the same outfit in the Shipping Wars on TV. Was very pleased with the service and shipped at the price he wanted, $499. You have to register which is free and they place a fee on the load that I believe the shipping outfit pays. Figure out how much it would cost you to rent a trailer, fuel round trip and lodging & food before you set a price. The guy in Australia offered me $600 but I couldn't do it that cheap. The guy who picked up the race car was picking up a load in LA for a return trip to AZ to make the economics work. One option!

I posted on uship. So far the lowest bid has been 1000 bucks. I may be better off driving down and towing it myself.

I've used Uship several time, and one outfit has always been the lowest bid. The last time I used them they brought me my 81 CJ7 to Houston from Las Vegas. Very reasonable and super service, (it wasn't running, and the driver helped me push it up the driveway and into the garage!). The hauled the jeep and anything I could pile into it..............

That company has been doing most of the bidding on uship. Lowest offer so far is 850.
