Shipping out

Not jeep related but I know we have a lot of Vets on the forum so thought I would share we are at MEPS this morning where my nephew ships out for the Navy boot camp.. Since the wife and decided not to have kids he is like a son to me. We are very proud. 8 weeks in boot camp, 6 weeks in A school as an ABH then off to an aircraft carrier in the gulf.

Our thoughts are with him as he begins this phase of his life.

I actually have several friends and old shipmates that are at Great Lakes, but they probably aren't going to be too nice to him

ABH (Aviation Botswains Mate Handling) are the guys that move airplanes on the flight deck, it's a tough job and the hours are long, but it's a rewarding job, and the aviation guys are always a tight knit bunch, he will do well :us:

Thanks all, we just got the I landed safe call so we know he is in good hands. Elwood, he is a good kid but 19 and Full of himself. Those friends of yours will set him on a good path.

I have heard that about the ABH crew too, poor thing I think he has only worked a handful of 8 hour days in his life.
