Short Stick Transmission * Different Pattern

In the market of purchasing another CJ7 . This is a 1981 Model.
Inline Six.
Went and took a look at it ,
BUT, the Transmission has a " short stick " ....
Looks like the same height as the transfer stick.
It is a four speed. Reverse in toward the drivers seat and up.
Different from the 1980 and 1986 model CJ7 we have here .

What type of tranny is this. Is it good Transmission ?

I will throw a few pics to give you a clue how short the " stick" is.
Don't ever remember seeing one just about as short as the transfer .

Not sure about it being short, but my 81 came with the same shift pattern, and it's an SR4 . Supposedly one of the weaker transmissions. I pulled mine just because I wanted a 5 speed. Again, not sure why it's short, but good luck!
