Side mirrors...

I'm looking for a nice set of side mirrors for the CJ. Either I run both CJ mirrors or something else since I love to drive my jeep without doors. Who does?????
What is everyone running? Show us your pictures.
Either run the YJ/TJ mirrors in adapters that bolt to the windshield hinges or get the mirrors that the stems slide into the top bracket for the doors or the side of windshield hinges.

Get the CJ mirrors. I don't know what they were thinking when they made the Wranglers. Mirrors mounted on removable doors?
CJ mirrors are inexpensive large and effective.

Agreed. The stock CJ mirrors are the way to go.

Stock CJ mirrors. But get the stainless ones if you want them to last. I bought a set of regular steel ones years ago, and they only lasted about 3 years. My Jeep sat outside all the time though.

I am running factory style mirrors. one vibrated off over the summer though do to the bias tires (and the fact that its a log waggon) and I went most of the summer with just one mirror that I couldn't see much out of. my soft top ripped so I run her with no top and no doors. I love my cj burned up all my cash in gas money, makes for a cold ride right now in ohio though. She has been out when the snow was flying, everyone thinks im nuts. Its a Jeep thing they don't understand.

Just got replacement mirrors in the mail and put them on. Am I a fool or is the passenger side mirror completely useless? Can't see almost anything. Is there a better option that bolts right on?

Also looking to buy mirrors. Do they use the original bolt holes on the windshield bracket ? Do the use the same bolts ?

Original holes and they send new bolts and hardware.
For my own information....what do you know about lifts? Right now I'm on a pure shackle lift...about 5". It's a brutal ride. Want something a little softer, any ideas?

I bought my cj right before winter. I redone the interior and the inside over the winter. I have not even drove it yet. I bought the cj with a body and suspension lift and have no idea on how the ride will be like. Its killing me to look at the cj and not being able to drive it yet.

well then how about this one.....ever replaced a wiper switch? Some look like they have a plastic piece around the connectors and others do not.....any ideas?

Ok so I see three ?s I can help you on the first two. Yes the Pass mirror is pretty worthless you need to have it adjusted so you are looking at it thru the w/s not the door like every other rig out there. Two: shackle lifts are bad they throw the castor off the front wheels and that makes it handle real bad a spring lift is the best way to go. Can't help you on your wiper switch.

Yes you have to look thru the W/S to see the mirror.Seems to work reasonably well i'v been driving mine like that for 16 years.

yes the right side mirror is worthless, I took mine off. I think it was a DOT thing, older cj's only had a left side.

DON'T get the ProComp lifted rear springs unless you want your tailbone relocated. I just yesterday took a leaf out (next to the bottom of the stack, thick leaf) to try to get a better ride. Haven't gotten it bolted back up. Doing that today; paint and clear-coat dry in all parts.

the leaf you removed is probaly the over load spring. usually thicker, straighter and not part of the spring pack

Having no success finding CJ style side rearview mirrors in SS and steel pivot ball. I just need the mirror heads, no mounting bracket. All that’s out there is cheap junk. Anyone with a lead…

I'm running a set of Rough Country 4" lift springs. They ride great. I bought the kit that also had the x-fer case lowering spacers, the drop pitman arm, and the extended sway bar connects. Bolt-in and good riding.
