Wheelin with the top down and I thought secured, I bounced through a couple of washouts and switch backs all in the name of weekend fun. Putting the top back up for the work week, I noticed two small knife point size tears in the top. Not secured down as well as I thought it must have jammed up against something sharp. Still small but potential for down the road big money.

Unable to find much in the way of help for this issue I turn to you all for some ideas.

I have read such remedies as crazy glue, tire patch kits, and g600 glue with a piece of top material as a patch. The cuts are very small but an issue for me. should I be concerned at this point or just bag it until they become more of an issue?

Thanks to all in advance!

Did you try a local car upholstery shop?? take the top in and he sews a patch on the inside, just noticeable if you look and if it cost more than $20 I would be surprised. these guys do this kind of thing all the time. leave it and it will just get worse. They can also replace the plastic windows very reasonably. WAY less than a new top.:D

Duct tape is not the answer this time. :D

Good sugestion! I'll give it a try on Monday. Thanks for the help!

A tent patch kit. A tent is as close to a soft top you will find.

Thanks mtnwhlr.
displaced Coloradan that I am, I use to spend a bit of paycheck at the Blue Parrot. I sold jeeps at Bundy AMC Jeep back in the early 80s. Dont get home often enough, glad to see someone on here from my old stompin grounds

Your welcome and I love the Blue Parrot also. I hope it helps you :chug:

May not be soon enough I used a patch made for Portable fish houses called the Black hole patch it worked great and matched the Black much getter then Duct tape. google black hole patch good Luck

I used a good wide black tape on my top and it has head for 2 years now.Dont notice it unless you are looking for it.

Both of those seem like viable solutions. I ended up going to the upholster's that did my seats. Since the hole was small, and the fabric is spice colored, he suggested that I take a small amount of clear silicone and push it against the hole. Blended fairly well and still works. I don't think that a rain shower goes by that doesn't get my worry button going. Two possibilities still exist...... it gets big enough to sew or so big that replacement is an option. I'm hoping silicone lasts for a long long long time.
