starting 83 build

Just got my fathers 83 CJ7 tub pulled off the frame along with the engine Transmission and gas tank. My father is set on keeping the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 6 cyl. I have never worked on a 4 wheel drive and the only thing with leaf springs I have worked on is a corvette, so I need alot of advice or maybe some one could point me in the diretion of a thred with some of these mods? hyd cluch, sups and or body lift around 2 or 3 inches, susp rebuild ( upgrade ). I also need to know how to get some more hp out of that AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , and who the good CJ7 venders are. The jeep ran and my father has drove it for years. He wants somthing he can take off road but mainly a nice weekend ride. Any advise will help Will post pics later If I am on the wrong sub forum let me know this is my first post Thanks
