Steering column .. access to lock rack

1982 CJ8 .. need to access the area where the lock rack assembly is located. Already have it apart to where the key cylinder is removed, but cannot get further.

This is a non-tilt steering column.

Vehicle is down until I get this fixed .. so I need some advice before I force something and maybe cause more damage.

Can somebody please tell me what to do next??

if you are wher you can see the lock, there should be three more phillips head screws to take out. take them out then remove that collar. then you should be able to see what to do next. also if you are this far, go ahead and get the bearing rebuild kit and replace them at this time. if i told you wrong let me know, mine is a tilt column but they should be close. hope this helps...
