there is a plate up under the dash that bolts to the firewall as well as the wiring that attaches to the steering column.

The dash pad is off and the bracket has been removed. The only connection is at the steering box. We've pulled with no success.

Spray some PB Blaster in there for a day or so. Then brace yourself real good and start yanking. Given your location, I'd say its just rusted in there real good.

there is also 4 - 2 on each side just behind the dash plate 1/2 bolts they need to be removed also. thats whats holding you up. the ones on the fire wall are just a clamping device. just removed mine this weekend.
