Pretty sure the aftermarket forks are simply :dung:. One person I know was able to grind the aftermarket forks down to get them to work, but from spankrjs thread above, it looks like a LOT of work to get the aftermarket :dung: to go in. I would think the time would be better spent adding material in where the wear has occured (I'm guessing that's brass, so couldn't you braise some more in there to build it up a little?)
