when I tow this jeep over to Biloxi cn I tap into the tail lights or do I need to do something else? Please don't suggest the magnet tail light cause my jeep has a stiff suspension and they won't last

You'll need a to use diodes to prevent cross feed.

Yes and no.

Yes you can tap into the existing lighting system. There are a couple of ways to prevent current back-feeding through the steering column:

Disconnect the wiring harness that feeds the lights from under the panel (it's a long flat connector). Feed power from the tow vehicle into only the rear harness (I used a salvage section of CJ wiring with the correct connector). Works great. You even get the side market lights as a bonus. It's kind of a PITA to disconnect/connect/disconnect/connect, but you aren't doing it that often. However remember you are dealing with 30+ year old wires/connectors.

Use a diode setup as was posted. I eventually went this route after a few times towing my CJ.
