1984 cj7 258 I-6 transmisson was changed to automatic before we got it
Thanks for the advice on the steering problem with my first jeep my sweet little 84 CJ7 . we replaced tie rods,steering stabilizer, front drive shaft was shot so replaced it too bump steering is much improved not quite there yet having an alignment done (steering box checked out ok)is there something else we should have done bearings and ball joints were replaced by PO.

Do you have any kind of lift on it?
I would double check the PO's work just to be sure.
 
we checked out the work done by PO it is good they had just started to work on jeep then they had to sell it. It does not have a lift on it and we dont want to put one on. I would however like to replace all the dry rotted rubber bushings is that a bad job? We are replacing all the wiring soon over the years i think everyone has spliced into wires better to start fresh
