Hoghead and I spent a ridiculous amount of time stripping and fighting Torx bolts on my CJ7 . I finally gave in and bought a bolt extractor kit after several failed attempts to weld a bolt or nut to the stripped bolts.

I can't attest that this is the best kit that money can buy but I can confirm that it worked on the must suborn bolts we had with ease.

It's not cheap but it's work a shot if you are having Torx bolt issues.

I have seen them on tv Im glad someone can vouch for them, an impact driver and pb blaster works good on torx, i have sheared the end of more than one cheap parts store torx bit on my Jeep

They work great in stripped Torx bolts! I bought a cheap Harbor Freight manual impact driver. Didn't do much good on the really stubborn bolts. The bolts that will replace these will be coated all over with never seize!

I hate torx and replace them when I can

The way I see it the removal of a damaged thread can get to be a fine art with many applications different from one another. I was a prototype machinist for 45 years and have done much work with all kinds of threaded applications.

I have to agree with you on this. Seems like these bolt extractors were meant for this application. Where as there are different types of bolt extractors for different types of bolts. Sorry there Torx I wasn't declaring war against you and your people! Just those dang 34 year old boltsz

Maybe I have been lucky, but even after living at the Washington coast for many years, I have had good luck with a product called Krull, then also with Sea Foam type blaster. Soak good for 24 hrs. Then used an old SK impack driver from my motorcycle days. Never had a problem with Torx.

Like the looks though of the tool you listed. When my luck runs out on a stubborn torx, I will know what to get!

I have found the use of a impack driver the tool for removing Torx bolts. I got mine from Mac Tools.

I bought an impact driver from HF and didn't have much luck. It was probably the cheap HF tool..
