thinking of doing ford shock tower

thinking of doing ford shock tower
Send that thing over my way so we can find out what is going on. It's time we see some pics of the progress you have made.

no doubt. i want to post pics of the side bars and other things ive done. it looks so much better with the steps off of it.

Dalefan, did you get one side on?
I only moved my bottom mount because When I did the u-nolt flip I had to use a different spring plate so I no longer had a shack mount. I had to put the new one somewhere so I picked the axle.
The mount you see is the rear mount hanging down.

i got them both on. i just went out to take a look and its going to have to stay that way. i have narrowtrac axles so there is no way to put mounts on the axle cause the knuckle is in the way. if i want to fix it i would have to get widetrack axles maybe.

Sounds to me like someone needs to ask Santa for an upgrade.

 You do believe in santa don't you.

i asked santa and she said no :( i will have to see if it has any ill effects with them that way.

Well, then it's back to the drawing board.

Did you mount them inside the frame? That should be ok. It will only affect the ride alot if you are hauling heavy loads, or trying to take turns like a Maserati.

mounted them outside the frame. i already thought about inside the frame. i would just have to reroute brake lines.

the more i look at it i think it will be fine. if your looking at the front of the jeep. the pass side looks like it at like 11:57 and the drivers side looks like it at 12:03 if you look at it like a clock.

Did you notice any difference in the ride?

i havent got to drive it yet. the wife works 12 hours all weekend so i have the kids and she wont let me put the 8 month old in the jeep yet. i just idled it up and down the drive and it seems fine. but thats not a real test. we have so steps by the sidewalk that are about a foot high so i drove one wheel up on them and it flexed when it was up there as much as a foot will make it flex lol.

Im gonna have a set of wide tracs available this winter. After they're out I'll see if your interested. I ship stuff from my work truck frieght.

it depends how much santa would let me spend lol. what gears are in them and i would need all the tie rods.

well i got to take it out for a drive tonight. road around town and took it out at 60 mph and felt no effect with the shocks the way they are. i still might be looking at getting widetrack axle in the future.

At least you know it's good and you can get a little more flex out of it, now, without the shocks limiting you.

The gears are the reason Im getting away from them. 2.75. Ok for 31s tops. Front Dana 30 needs ball joints.

let me know a price. i have 31s so ill be all good. 2.75s is what i have now and i drive 55mph to work when i take it so that would be all good. if it has the same ball joints as mine i can swap them.
