And finally a 1981 jeep cj7 258 hardtop
Next saturdays weather here, snow in the morning high for the day 70. what the heck????

Yup same here. We were down in the teens a week ago and had snow a day or two ago. Today I worked outside all day on my jeep in a long sleeve shirt with sun shining.

I checked the long range forecast in the almanac and I think I'll put the hardtop on.

I just don't like they way they handle with a hard top.

I put a hot water heater under the drivers seat and run the soft top. Gets plenty warm.

-20f Friday - +35 Monday here.

I have a bikini top and half doors, just wear a rain suit?

I drove a Toyota landcruiser for years. Steel top and 4 steel doors. I never even thought about the weight.
Now I have a CJ7 hardtop thats fiberglass I thought it was streamlined :D

I hate the hardtop..and I hate the doors. It's just something I do to get me through the winter. At least where I live now, winter is short....when I was in Montana, the hardtop and doors stayed on almost 9 months out of the year :(

I don't have a top. I have been known to drape a tarp over the cage and even on my lap. I say topless is the way to go.

Well :dung:!!!! The roll cage won't let the windshield frame back far enough forthe hard top to sit down on it. I have to cut the roll cage, put the top back on, refit the roll cage, take the top off, gut the inside of the jeep, reweld the roll cage, then put the top on. Or I can say to heck with it and man up and drive around with a bikini top and half doors. I'm lernin here ok! Guess I'll man up :)

Mines parked in the garage till summer comes. :D:D:D

My soft top CJ5 is parked for the winter due to icy road handling issues but, the heater works well.
My soft top yj is good to around -30 :) but gets cold almost instantly when I turn the key off. :(

Back when I was younger I had no problem riding around in a softtop landcruiser. Now I just don't like getting wet and cold. I don't mind the cold, getting wet doesn't really bother me. When it's 35 and raining outside, I can't handle that.

Stormtroop it!

One thing I plan on doing this winter, if we ever get a good snow storm, is take the doors and the top off, and drive around the fresh powder in white snow gear with ski goggles.

Come on, garage queens?? There may come a time when I don't want to put the hard top on, but I can't imagine a time where I would deny myself the pleasure of driving my Jeep.. in any kind of weather.

Wow! That's the first time my rig has ever been called a garage queen. I kind of like it.

My boys wouldn't let me garage the jeep even in the winter at sub zero degree weather. They don't care they just put their coveralls on. We put the hardtop on in October and take it off in April and go jeepin!! I think a hardtop seals up better and is less noisey.
