tranny help

Hey all! I have a 76 CJ7 with 35's lockers, and 456s. Engine is a mildly built sbc 350. Currently has the stock T-150 /Dana 20 . Tranny is making a lot of noise, especially 2nd gear. Rather than rebuild I am thinking 4 spd. Oh, jeep also has twin stick installed. What should I look for?

From what I hear the t350 is more ideal as it is a shorter tranny. Since you have the t400 maybe you should take some measurements and see what it takes to put on that Dana 20 in the rear. You will probably have to use a high stall converter. I have seen guys with autos outdo super low geared rigs also. A guy in my club stuffed it a 700r4 in his CJ5 , but it did require two reversed 9 inch axles.
