Start a heart transplant mid November with LS1 and SM465 :-)
I installed the standard size in my 77. Works fine. Not sure if it's made by the same company but it was also made in the U.S. Just pay attention to the tail pipe. The heat may soften it and over time it may become brittle.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind as I will have to have new exhaust built for the LS1

When I do my engine swap I will need to drop and install a fuel pump so I was thinking about adding a larger tanks.

I found where TREX has a 21 gallon tank and was wondering if anyone else has tried it and if they like it.

1978-1986 Jeep CJ 21 gallon plastic tank - T-Rex Auto Parts

That is the MTS tank upgrade on the T Rex page. It is the same tank I am going to install and am sourcing the parts now. One thing I have found out is don't let the illustration fool you, not all the parts on the picture are in the kit.

T Rex does have the tank listed for $10 less than I paid Quadratec for the same thing though.

Thanks, are you going to put a skid plate under it?

Yep, the kit is supposed to come with exteders so you can use an OEM skidplate for the 15 gallon tank. At least that is what the MTS site says.

Hot my 21 gallon MTS kit on the mail today. It has the tank, top strap, and skid plate extensions in it. That is all.

Great, let us know how the install goes. :D

I know I will have to replace the fuel pump when I do it as the LS1 if a injected motor

I already have new nylon fuel line, and fuel filler hoses, neck, and bevel, and secret squirrel Marine access hatch. The only thing I am missing now is the side straps for the tank. I am going to order them today and see how long they take to get here. As soon I have everything here I will put the tank on. The PITA is it takes forever for parts to get here from the US.
