Anyone have a writeup or info on using a '88 Wagoneer brake booster and MC on my CJ? I forgot I got one when I bought the spare 360, and I want to get power brakes on this thing someday.
It'll be a couple weekends before I get a chance to work on the rig again, so I figured I'd start the research early..

Can you take pics of the booster? I'd like to see the mounting flange and the actuator rod.

I will after this weekend, we are out of town right now. Going to take the 4 year old for a ride on Thomas the Train tomorrow....

Honestly I haven't even looked at it yet, I threw it on a shelf and forgot about it. I'll get pics when we get home.

You might need to modify the plunger rod but can't tell until you get the old one removed.

Correct. The big one is the sending unit. The double sided one is the switch.

Congrats on taming Thomas the Train! I hope nobody got sick or hurt on that thing!

Good score with finding brake booster, that will definately help slow those swampers down. Once you remove your old one, you can compare the rod lengths to determine what you will need to do. It might be too long, but maybe you'll get lucky and only need minor engineering! :)

I'm glad you asked about the sending unit, as I was looking at mine and wondering the same thing....Thanks CJ!

I guess this will be a good time to tear the pedals apart... I have the spare engine installed, but no exhaust or fenders in the way yet. so i know what the plan is for tonight! thanks guys!

Well I took a closer look at the booster, and it will not work for me...:censored:

I didnt notice that the bolt pattern on the bracket are some weird offset pattern, that in no way resembles whats already on the CJ. I don't feel like rebuilding the firewall after drilling holes to fit this one, so back in the storage pile it went...:(

Now I'm on the lookout for a YJ booster.:p

Sorry to hear that, you can't change that bracket....somehow?
If not, I've been looking at the YJ ones, and they are going fairly cheap. Throw yours on Ebay, and it should go for the same as a YJ.

Hmm...good idea! that would be better than it sitting on the shelf lol.
