Take a look in the "DOC" section of this site, you will find the factory service manual there. If you dont find it there, I have the 81 or 82 service manual here, I can take a pic of it,...the doc section might only have the 86.

I looked in the docs section (thanks by the way, didn't know it was there) and I didn't find anything on the vacuum diagram for my 82'. If you have pictures that would be great. What repair manual do you have? I bought the haynes manual but it leaves a lot to be desired. Ever heard of a BISHKO repair manual?
p/s: if you need to email the pictures to me my email Removed email - CJ
As always thanks to everyone who helps me out on these issues, i would be lost without you all.

IMO the only manual worth buying is the factory service manual, Faxon and some others do reprints of the original 3 book set for around $80.

Not telling you your business, but if you can still edit your post, remove your email address, anyone on the net can see it, and you can be "spammed".

I have the factory service manuals 73-86 Jeep. Thats why I have to go digging...Ive got hundreds of manuals (reference nut).

Bishko, I think sells reprints of the OE manual or used ones.

Avoid all the aftermarket manuals like the plauge. Let me do some digging, I cant provide it tonight, my camera is at the "other" place. Im playing games with verizon right now on where my new 4g hardware is at for our "other" place (dont have internet at the farm, try as I may !)

Update, I have the 82 manual on my desk, I think I might have a camera in my truck, you may see it yet tonight...

Thanks for the advice man. Now to really sound like a greenhorn, how do I edit it?
As far as the diagram....
Man i can't tell you how much i appreciate it! I owe you a case of beer. My engine compartment looks like someone threw up spaghetti, and there are screws hanging out of everywhere.

I see CJ removed your email addy for you !

Your welcome, for the wiring diagram. Uh, there is a reason I have all these manuals, I'm just a little further down the road, thats all... been there done that.

If you look at aftermarket manuals, the jeep manual, like Chilton's, is about a 1/3 the size of the factory repair manual for one model year. And the Chilton covers how many decades ? I don't have one anymore, but did at one point.

Anyhow, point is, how can you cover 20+ years of a vehicle, and how does the manual shrink to a third of one model year factory manual ? The math does not add up, lots-O-info is not there, thats how they do it !

Enjoy, let me know if there is anything else you need from that manual,

BK

Thanks that diagram will help me too . I just pulled my carb off last night its shot does anyone know of a good replacement ca legal ?or does anyone have a good rochester 2bbl

I would first suggest a finding a good carb rebuild shop before replacing it. Then there is J&W auto wreckers in Hesperia which is a good Jeep parts outfit.
