Just curious if the parts I’ve taken off my 82 CJ7 and boxed up are worth the trouble.

Removed carb, distributor, computer, 10 miles of wires and vacuum tubing, air filter housing among other things.

The only reason I ask is because I’m getting ready to swap in a 302 from a Bronco donor I have and a few boxes of parts is one thing but I definitely don’t want to store an extra engine and Transmission indefinitely.

So is any of this something another jeeper can use? I’m sure there are a few purists out there who are restoring but I assume most tend to upgrade?

So, worth the hassle of putting this stuff on CL? Most is bulky and gassy/greasy so local sales would be easiest as much as I hate dealing with a$$hats on CL.

Thanks for any input.

That all depends on the parts...... pieces that are critical or are easily broken / worn out and are not reproduced anywhere are very valuable. Most of what you listed probably wouldn’t be worth a lot, except maybe for the air filter housing and carb. You are correct in that most folks upgrade the carb, dist., etc. Original rust free sheet metal sells also. CL ads are free, so throw one ad up, list everything you have, and run it for a couple weeks. It also depends greatly on your location. I tried selling off some spares a couple years back - could hardly give it away. If you have a few folks nearby rebuilding one, you’ll have much greater luck.

I’ll take the carb and adapter plate if it’s in decent shape.

True. A CL listing would be an easy way to find out if they’re needed in my area. Guess I’m most concerned about the motor and tranny but worst case scenario I can sell it to one of the junkyards.

FB Marketplace might be worth a look

I've been browsing it for awhile now...seems to get a lot of traffic

Cool. Didn’t know there was a selling platform on FB. Now just to figure out the password...My kids are overseas and all on different social media. I think they do it just to f$&k with me. [emoji849]

Forgot about marketplace....... my watches it all the time, but I think I’ve been in it maybe twice. Agreed it’s probly seeing more traffic than CL
