I need to have the vin ran for a bonded title but don't know where it is. Is it on the body somewhere?

It should be located on a metal plate attached to the firewall by the master cylinder. It should be about 4" wide by about 3" tall. It should be attached at all four corners by rivets or maybe even screws.

Notice I said 'should' - many times they tend to get removed or lost.

Back then they were a Serial number only, doesn't state Vin anywhere. It's there but what sucks is it's held in with screws so it can't be ran unless I use a few rivits but I can do that.

they didn't put one on the dash on a sticker? My '74 has a complete VIN on the dash, on the firewall and also stamped into the frame in the engine compartment...

On the frame huh? I have never seen one on the frame of any of my jeeps but my old one was a 79. Hell, my current Jeep has a 1979 frame with a glass tub and my original 1980 vin tag.
