The wife is going out of town next weekend (and it's pay day weekend), so I've a couple of things I want to do to my jeep. I know I've got some slack in my timing chain and I've pinpointed my main oil leak to the oil pump.
I've already pulled the valve covers, cleaned them up, painted and put new gaskets in.
THE PLAN:
I'm going to pull the intake off, install a new thermostat while I'm at it, clean it up and a coat of paint to make it purdy. Going to pull the top off the carburator and see if I can find out why it flooded out on me this past weekend. Of course new gaskets to stop the oil seepage.
The oil pan comes off next for the same treatment as the valve covers. Remove and clean the oil pickup screen. before that goes back on, the timing chain cover comes off for a cleaning and paint. New timing chain and gears, oil pump and fuel pump.
So, My weekend is full of doing some of what I love to do. If there is any time left over, then I might take it out and get it dirty, or just stay home and rest with plenty of beer and cigars.

i want to see some pictures! and why not take it out and get it dirty with beer and cigars? haha

Finished it up Sunday morning. A lot of work and clean up. Fired up like a champ. Set the timing and carb, took a shower and went to the beach where we had three jeep clubs getting together. I guess gwtting it muddy will have to wait. Still had plenty of beer and cigars.
