Great advice. It's lifted with tall tires on it. It has a sbc 350 with TH350, and it seems whomever in history gutted a 1975 C-series pickup for the power steering, ( from column to pittman arm), and the hacked the wiring into a rat's nest.

Question: Would it make better sense to gut everything and rewire this using a Haywire or Painless Cheby C-10 retrofit with the additional capabilities for the fuel pump and cooling fans?

If the wiring is hosed up and you are capable of a rewire, definitely. We already know it’s very old. Lifted and big tires with a 350 can get out of control quickly. Just saying.

Thank you for letting me in. I have a 1958 Willys CJ5 . I am actually that I found your site by chance, doing a google search for caster angle. Last summer i completely renewed the front wheel spindles, bearings and more, at this moment, I just replaced the 2 U joints of the front propeller shaft. Each time I do a job it seems there's another one coming to me

• Tech. Articles
  • Submitting technical articles could never be easier. Members have the ability to share and document their knowledge of CJ's or Jeeps in general. A file attachment system is in place for the addition of manuals, images and notes. And of course, this area is member controlled too...

  • An extensive and large database is provided to share manuals and technical documents on your favorite 4x4, tooling, accessories and just about anything else. Users are free to create categories as needed.
• Classifieds
  • All classified adds are free for all registered members. We really don't have anything specific for Commandos but this diagram should work.
