Thank You, everyone for all your suggestions and ideas. If I would have been more observant I would have figured it out. Apparently at on time one of the po had an air conditioner in it took it out taped the hoses and left it that way This is the first Jeep I have ever owned I have wanted one since forever. My brother had this one sitting in his yard for the last six years and sold it to me for $900.00. I don't know much but I do know that at that price I couldn't go to wrong. He had the carb rebuilt 6 yrs ago and said it never ran right after that and he lost interest in it. He lives in WA, I live in WY so we met half way and towed it home. Changed all the vacuum hoses, wow, talk about bad. It runs good the idle needs set a little higher since it wants to die at the stop lights. Once again :ty:. The Jeep is a 1986 CJ7Laredo 6cyl 5 speed. I have no clue about any thing else on it
Glad you were able to figure that out. Looks like you got yourself a good deal there. Don't be afraid to ask questions, at one point in time, we were all newb's, and some of us still are.
I hope to be on this sight for a very long time. I don't feel intimidated by the people, just the Jeep since to work on the engein I need at least a 2 foot box to stand on to work inside it. Nice thing is i'm small enough to crawl under it to work, maybe I should change that to attempt to work on it. I tried to post pictures and they went to the Gallery under my name Habuusa
Don't forget that an A/C has a compressor driven off the engine just as my 304CID 80 CJ7 has.... I gotta get some new smaller belts and take off the unused A?C compressor. There is little enough HP as it is.
