I'm hopin someone can help me out on a few things. I have a CJ7 304V8 QuadraTrac . This is my first Jeep and I have a couple questions.

1. on the hood of the jeep you can see the remnents of a decal that says Professor. It's in the same spot Renegade or Loredo would be. I've never seen that decal before. Can anyone tell me about this decal, or is it something someone decided to put on.

2. Also I wanted to know if I have a base model or a Renegade . The title just says the model is 93.

Sorry for being such a blonde when it comes to this stuff :dunno:

A lot of people makeup their own names for their Jeeps.
I've never seen one that says "professor", but I've seen many others.
As far as I know Jeep made Renegade , Renegade I, Renegade II, Golden Eagle , Laredo , but there are others that were dealership or area specific.

Thanks. I thought that may be what someone did.
I'm doing a frame up restoration and wanted to put the Renegade decals on. I thought the title would specify Renegade on it.

"Renegade " is a trim package. It came with various things in different years.
Roll bar, aluminum slot wheels, White spoke wheels, Tape stripe package, Better seats, Upgraded steering wheel, but it won't be on the title.

I would not worry about putting the stickers on, you can buy them several places online so I am sure many Renegades running around are not Renegades. Like stated, it was a trim package, although the first 2 or 3 years they had an upgraded engine, I do not know if the later years needed the upgraded engine for the package. I think the first Renegades were 1970 CJ5s.
Many owners badge their Jeeps, I run "Limited Baja Edition" stickers on some of mine and it is a private joke between my wife and myself about how many guys claim to have owned a LBE Jeep earlier in their life.

The first years for the Renagade had a fully boxed in frame and heavy duty suspension also. It was in 1970 and 1971. Larado was always meant to be a chrome dress up package with the Renagade being the tougher version but with everything else in the 70's it got watered down to nothing but stickers and do-dads.
