What did you do to or with your CJ today?
The Easter Jeep Safari is a shi$ sh@w nowadays. Better to go there any other week.
But, nostalgic for me. So, gotta go for the 60th annual. Bet I can count the CJs I see there on one hand.
No desire to go that week. Waiting around to much I would imagine.

Today among other things, I started in on removing the electrical tape and (sharp) zip ties all over all the wiring in the engine bay. The wiring itself is kind of a joke. I don’t know what “mechanic” serviced this CJ in the hands of the PO but if the wiring is any indicator, I’m in trouble! Fortunately after I tuned it up, which it needed SO badly, it purrs like a sewing machine. But I need to basically remove the existing wiring and start over. I just got done doing the very same thing to my ‘58 FC-170, so I’m familiar with the process.

Fyi, your 73 CJ was put together with electrical tape. It becomes so frickin brittle.
Good job on your going forward b

Hey !!
That wiring looks like some of my Handy Work !! 😀
The "Caliber" of the Vehicle and the Vehicle's Restoration Net Worth........
It looks Appropriate for a JEEP.
It still looks Water Tight to me.
LOL

Passenger front hub started squealing. Warmer than the rest. Time for bearings I suppose
Probably, you should change the race at the same time...

Always good to check those hoses once in a while.

I decided to fix my coolant leak, not the gasket, not a hose a micro crack in the housing. If I could find a cast iron housing my life would be happier parts are enroute so possibly in the morning I will solve the issue.

A Flat Tow Hitch and Mag Lights.
Most Excellent !!!

Have you Flat Towed Before?

Flat-towed my CJ5 in the early ‘90s before a trailer.

Undo the driveshaft at the rear axle and wire it up at the crossmember with some tie-wire.
Unlock the steering wheel too. Have a story about that one in Silverton. Ha!

And disconnecting battery also.

I believe I have posted before about Flat Towing in a Mountain Snow Storm in Wyoming.

Just remember, the flat towed vehicle has NO BRAKES, and will PUSH and Track on It's 4 Wheels.
It doesn't have a Center Turning Radius like a Trailer Axle.

Go out for some Practice Drives
and feel for the reaction of the flat towed vehicle.
I know you Got This !!
It is like "Dancing with a Elephant".

That’s why I got this rig months in advance, see how it all works, or not. :cj7:
