What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Went over the rear of my frame a little more with a hammer and screw driver. Two spots need patching. Right by the shock mount ( bottom area of frame) and the rear spring hanger , same spot..

Installed the new longer twinsticks I had made. Now SOMEBODY buy the old ones!:D

I don't care who you are. That there is some funny :dung:. You asked for it Susie!:p

My 3YO does that every time the CJ comes out of the shed...Runs over and gives it a hug and a kiss, screaming "the jeeps out, the jeeps out!" Never fails to crack us up!

As for what I did to it today, I got the carb apart to clean the mud out from the last trip (forgot to install the air cleaner before running the mud holes...oops), and instead of mud, I found bits of silicone (RTV) in the primary jets... I had a carb shop go thru this thing after I got it to get rid of all that :dung: the PO put on it when he couldn't find a gasket kit! At least its been about 2 years since then...

I'm in a very good mood today. That's why I really spend my free time cleaning up my CJ. It feels good to have a cool and totally clean jeep on the road because you'll be the envy of other drivers. I'm planning to buy a reserve tire today. Hopefully, I can find the best deal.

Bubba used to do that with the Harley. And the big truck (Peterbilt) But he stopped after he got out of kindgarten. I dont know if he got used to it being there or thought he was too big or too cool...

Kids eventually stop being cute.

Nice day here in Ohio so I washed all the winter salt off. Going wheeling next weekend so it will be all dirty again :)

My dad and I gave our 1973 CJ5 a new coat of paint a few weeks ago, but today I just took it out for a drive around. It still handles pretty well, especially on those mountain slopes.

Put the dash back together, (damn forgot about the water temp & fuel gauge). Drove her around & filled the gas tank. Fixed the top, (Thanks Coldwater!). Tried to mount the nerf bars.

replaced the old, rotten rubber motor mounts with cool, new poly motor mounts. :)
found a crack in the frame that will have to be dealt with eventually. :(
Figured out where to mount the ammo can storage boxes finally! :)
Fixed the leak in the carb I caused...now the floats are off again...:(

put the new tie rods on, new front bumper, mrsdalefan put the new counsel in and new heater vent by the hood.

Today, My wife and I took the Jeep out at 12:00, and just got back. Perfect weather, to top or doors, and piled up a good hundred miles just going to lunch and toolin around. Got back about a half hour ago with a bit of a sunburn.

Nice! :) It's been pretty cloudy here today so I was kinda stuck in the garage... That and my CJ is in a million pieces!
