Went for a ten minute rip on our road. No top in 25 deg is cold but I just had to test the 4wd. This one hasn’t driven in snow since 1995.

I was dressed for plowing and warmed up from shoveling so not too bad. We had 8-9 inches, most from drifting down the mountain

Too cold in the garage, so did final reassembly and measuring/shimming of my “new” NP435 4-speed in the kitchen. Wife is very tolerant.

No, not really a heated garage. Just a plug in electric heater and some insulated coveralls. Only a problem for about 6 weeks every winter, otherwise it's bearable.

By the way, was about to order a Luk clutch kit. You recommend for our CJs?

I have a luk in mine. Loved my center Force that I had but just couldn't justify the cost for a Jeep

If I had a performance engine and just a low compression AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l maybe. However luk is solid performance even off road and very friendly on the wallet compared to center Force

I think the last one I put in was a Luk also. That was 30 years ago and behind a slightly-hopped-up 304ci. Just wondered if their parts were still ok.

The Jeep has been a little under the weather lately. It wasn’t available today for a nice ride in the snow with the top down. We get snow maybe once every 10 years and I missed my chance today. We usually get a dusting or maybe an inch. Historic levels today. 10 - 11 inches probably. I also didn’t want to be frozen either like Hatchet Jack to the steering wheel.
