Those are pipe threads so you would need NPT fittings. IIRC, it's 3/8" in the block and 1/4" for the sender Just take the mechanical fitting and the new electric sender with you when you hit your local hardware store to fit it up. A an adapter bushing should do it. Don't forget to use Teflon tape on the threads when you install it.
 
I appreciate the reply. is it correct that the engine block only receives inverted flair 3/8 fittings ?
 
I have decided I want to use a mechanical oil pressure set up, but i'm having a hard time finding an adapter for the 3/8-24 inverted flare the on my engine block to the oil tube. Im going nuts. The bosch gauge kit I bought doesn't have the correct fittings my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is an early it's block
