What do I need to swap it?

I have a chance to buy a very nice 1980 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l six with or without an attached T-5 .

I have a 1980 CJ5 with a 2.5L (GM) with an SR4 and Dana 300 X'fer case.

What do I need to make the swap?

I'm thinking:

1. Engine mounts.
2. Bell Housing (If I keep the SR4 ).
3. Radiator.

Will the T-5 bolt up to a Dana 300 ?

Looking at an Advance Adapters catalog, the transmissions will be a direct swap, although your driveshafts will need some adjusting.

That is how mine came from the factory AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l T-5 300. Should be a easy swap.

Engine and frame mounts.
Radiator/shroud
Exhaust.
Fuel line.
Lengthened and shortened drivelines.
Double check the crossmember.
Your ignition system will work just fine going from the 4 to the 6cyl.
Probably have to modify the tranny tunnel inspection cover.

I went from the 4cyl to a 6cyl with my existing T-5 and it was a huge project because I had to change out the input shaft from a 14 spline to a 10 spline (or vice versa, cant remember). You have an advantage with the complete set up...a lot less work.
