what is this jeep??

i maybe buying this jeep to add to the other four i already have but i was wondering if anyone could give me insight on it i am buying it through a police auction so they dont have nor care to offer ant information

i was thinking maybe a navy jeep in ship yards or something of the sort \

any ideas??

Not sure but it looks like a DJ with the top hacked off to me.

It is a military dj. Left hand drive and the top was hacked off. They were used as courier/delivery vehicles, the USAF got most of them, only made for a few years. The grill should have the recessed lights.

I agree. It looks like a dj to me too. It's the short wheel base like the early CJ5 's. It should be the 4 cyl.
We need more pics

Note: postal jeep have a more rounded nose because amc left fenders short and changed grill to fit the motor

That's a military DJ. The recessed light are the identifier.

Did it have a top on it at one time??
More then likely was it cut off to make it look as it does now?

It originally looked like a postal truck, before the top was hacked off. The only difference between the 2 vehicles is which side the steering wheel is on. They were all 2 wheel drive.
